Yes, you read that correctly. $1,000 sweatpants. Lately, sweatpants have been seen on the runways and in fashion magazines. These aren’t any sweatpants, of course – they’re high end, designer sweatpants, with price tags to match. Designers like Bottega Veneta and Rag & Bone have pairs that retail in the $200 – $300 range, but this article in the Wall Street Journal reports that Michael Kors is selling a pair that will set you back $995. But don’t worry – they’re cashmere. Some fashionistas maintain that the sweatpants trend will catch on (there have been comparisons to leggings), but I just don’t think I could take myself seriously if I wore sweatpants and heels to a nice dinner out. What about you? Am I wrong, are high end sweatpants really going to catch on? It seems some celebs, like Katie Holmes here, are on board.
