This new year’s a few friends and I made a resolution to be better people. You know, gossip-free do-gooder types. Now, that hasn’t exactly panned out for us, but maybe it would have if we invested in this new trend of jewelry claiming to give out good Karma and other do-gooder qualities.
You may have seen Nicole Richie wearing an armful of tannish beads lately. These are Mala Beads, Buddhist beads similar to the Catholic rosary. These beads are used for meditation and prayer in the Buddhist faith and are thought to ward off negative forces. I’m a bit skeptical of its spiritual abilities but they’re cute so maybe I’ll give them a shot.
You know what they say, what goes around comes around. That’s why dogeared Karma necklaces are aptly shaped in a circle to represent the circle of karma. These necklaces are supposed to serve as reminders to keep your circle positive and peaceful, so in the very least, maybe they’ll remind you of your new year’s resolution in before you open your mouth to gossip!
