Victoria Beckham has come a long way from her Posh Spice days. While her spring 2011 collection showed at New York Fashion Week, the models carried an added accessory as they strutted down the runway, handbags. Since her line is so successful, it does only seem natural for her to add handbag designer to growing resume.
The collection resembles much of what Victoria is seen carrying, Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags. When asked by Vogue what her inspiration for the collection was she said, “I wanted to cover 24 hours in the life of me- I travel, I have children, I work, and I still want to go on date nights with my husband.”
The result is her daily life summed up into six different bags. A shoulder bag perfect for lunch hour, a cocktail clutch (ironically named “The Victoria Satchel”), a travel tote designed with her husband David in mind, and an all of the above tote perfectly named ‘the Victoria. ” Victoria was even overheard telling a guest at her fashion show, “A Beckham can replace a Birkin”.
The six piece collection, starting at $1,700, is set to be released as early as this December and will be available at Bergdorf Goodman.
