New York City’s Hudson Yards development just opened this weekend, and it was 20 years and billions of dollars in the making. Living just down the block from Hudson Yards, we’ve been scouring the new development for the best shopping, dining and more. Read on for The Ultimate Guide To The Best Shopping & Dining in Hudson Yards.
Our Favorite Shopping In Hudson Yards:
Neiman Marcus: First and foremost, we have to bow at the altar. Hudson Yards brings Manhattan its very first Neiman Marcus, and for that we are grateful. This location is beautifully decked out, harking in the future of retail. It has a beautiful food hall in its center with outposts of City Bakery and other great nibbles, it has beautiful art throughout, and it has two amazing boutiques flanking it: Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Oh, and did we mention the view? It overlooks the new Vessel that everyone is lining up for.
Forty Five Ten: I immediately fell in love with this store, which carries brands such as Serge Luten and Victoria Beckham. It also has a beautiful range of art on sale. The design of the store is just beautiful, making you feel like you are stepping into a plush closet.
Batch: This is another great shopping concept that makes you feel like you are shopping your incredibly chic friend’s Malibu living room. Their selection is well curated, with great earrings from Gaia, leather goods, dog accessories and great home items.
Muji: Looking for minimalist home design? This Japanese concept has great items from planters to cutlery that are zen in design and well crafted.
M. Gemi: This Italian leather shoe maker opened its first physical store presence in Hudson Yards. It has both men’s and women’s shoes, from drivers to heels and their iconic flats.
Hudson Yards also has other retail staples: Lululemon, Zara, H&M, Stuart Weitzman, among others.
The Vessel: You’ve probably heard a lot of fanfare about this honeycomb-shaped piece of art that pedestrians can walk. It’s just at the back of Hudson Yards and entry is free. BUT, you need to get your free tickets online, so if you plan on going, do this well in advance, as of right now there is a two-week wait list for the tickets.
Our Favorite Restaurants At Hudson Yards
Van Leeuwen: Hudson Yards has an adorable outpost of this Brooklyn-based ice cream maker, which also carries vegan ice cream! We love the mint green decor and are huge fans of their vanilla ice cream.
Estiatorio Milos: One of my favorite restaurants in NYC opened a Hudson Yards outpost and I couldn’t be more excited. Milos serves up some of the best Greek food anywhere outside of Greece. It has delicious seafood and Greek wines on the menu and is such an elegant setting. The fiance and I are planning on making this our local spot.
Fuku: This fried chicken concept from the Momofuku team has had long lines since Hudson Yards opened, but the fiancé waited it out and said their chicken sandwich and chickpea mac and cheese were delicious.
