Today, Target launched its latest capsule collection with British country brand Hunter. Hunter is known for their tall rainbows, and became a bit of a cult item following photos of celebrities like Kate Moss wearing them as music festivals in muddy fields out in the U.K. They are also a staple among the high-class country British set who wear them on activities such as hunting.
The Target Hunter collection launched today and most people were thrilled at the chance to get Hunter’s iconic tall rain boots, which usually retail for more than $140, for a fraction of the price. The capsule collection’s price for them was just $40 and they look very much like the original boot.
After logging onto Target.com this morning to order a pair from my mom (I already own Hunter wellies), I (and surely countless others) were disappointed to find that they didn’t get their shipment in in time for the launch of the collection.
Target.com had the following disclaimer: “For guests eyeing the women’s tall rain boots, unfortunately they are delayed and won’t be available in stores or online when the collection launches. We apologize for any disappointment and we’ll share more information when we can.”
Turns out, the tall boots were made but didn’t pass quality testing and have been recalled. Some angry customers found this out the hard way when they showed up at Target this morning, found the tall boots and went to the register only to have employees TAKE their boots away! Huge blunder on Target’s part.
We will update the blog once the shipment is available for mass consumption. In the meantime, the rest of the collection can be found here.

I heard it was a quality control issue and that they may not be released AT ALL! They actually have the boots at some stores and they were taken away from customers!
