The Best Water Filters to Eliminate Toxins for IVF

By Joey Cahue

Getting into a healthy, everyday self-care routine is an important step to ridding your body from all toxins and chemicals. Whether this is done mentally or physically, chances are it will improve your quality of life. While we advocate water filtration for anyone trying to live a healthy lifestyle, this is especially crucial for women trying to get pregnant or undergoing IVF. You’ll recall in a series we’ve been writing about our editor’s IVF journey (found here, here and here) that priming your body for pregnancy and IVF is a process that takes work. One of the most important factors in addition to taking the proper supplements is to eliminate chemicals and toxins found in every day items such as cosmetics, cleaning supplies and drinking water.

Read below to see our favorite products for filtering water and taking the crucial step to eliminating harmful toxins and other chemicals from drinking water.

Brondell’s filtration systems are top of the line and sleek, making it a great contender for an at-home water filter.

Brondell H2O+ Cypress Countertop Water Filter System – $139:
Brondell is back at it with another powerhouse product you’ll love! Their countertop water filter is just as awesome as their showerhead (below). This attachment could be easily installed next to your sink in your kitchen. It’ll clear pesticides, lead, and many more harmful toxins that come from a regular faucet because it has a triple-filtration system that is incredibly thorough.

We love the sleek design, which makes it functional but also aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been using it for several weeks now and think it’s a great way to healthily increase your water intake.

Filtered water extends beyond just drinking water. A filtered shower head is a great option, too.

VivaSpring Filtered Shower Head – $39.99:

The importance of filtered water doesn’t start and end at drinking water. There’s the rest of your body, too. A filtered showerhead could make a huge difference in the amount of toxins you come into contact with, and it could even have beauty benefits.

Filtered water is easier on your skin and hair because the chemicals are filtered out. It also means that your skin, which is your body’s largest organ, will come into fewer toxins and chemicals such as chlorine, lead and mercury on a daily basis, which is an important consideration when you are trying to get pregnant. This Brondell model will make noticeable improvements and a has a sleek design and great rainfall spray that makes your showering experience a little more luxurious!
