The Best Products To Get In Shape For The Wedding

After getting engaged in May, my attention quickly turned to getting into top shape for the big day. Our wedding was scheduled for approximately 10 months after our engagement, so I had time to improve my eating habits and maximize my workouts, but I wanted some tools to hold me accountable while my fiance and I began sweating for the wedding.

After extensive research, I wanted to share the best products to get in shape for the wedding. The two items I was deadest on for this journey are the a smart scale and a smart fitness tracker. I knew that in order to lose weight and tone up, I’d want products that are connected to my phone to keep me accountable.

The Yunmai smart scale has become an integral part of my routine.

For the smart scale, I chose the Yunmai Color Bluetooth Smart scale, $69.95.

I was immediately attracted the the sleek design of the scale, which looks great in our apartment and comes in a broad range of colors. But what was the clincher for me is that in addition to measuring and charting your weight, it also measures a host of other fitness metrics that are quite frankly more important and have a bigger impact on how you look than just your weight.

In addition to your weight, the scale measures your BMI, visceral fat percentage, body fat percentage, muscle mass, body water, Basal Metabolic rate, protein, and other metrics that give you a much fuller picture of your health. For instance, I found myself much more focused on lowers my body fat percentage rather than seeing pounds slide off. I’ve been doing a lot more weight lifting to tone up, which adds muscle, which actually increases your weight. But, knowing that my body fat percentage was declining in tandem with that is super encouraging and validated my workouts.

The app that is connected to the scale is super easy to use, and I love that it charts your progress. This was a great motivator for me to see a visual representation of all of the hard work I’ve been doing on a downward chart.

This TICKR fit has become my workout buddy.

The second item I wanted was a fitness tracker to really take my workouts to the next level. I’ve noticed that when I have live feedback of my progress in classes like OrangeTheory where you wear a fitness tracker, I also push myself to the extreme and burn more calories and get more reps in. For this, I turned to TICKR FIT, $79.99.

I love how intuitive the TICKR fit is. After putting the band on your arm, you open your app and select he type of workout you will be doing. There are preprogrammed ones int he app such as cardio class, running, cycling, etc. You then press “Start” when your workout begins and end it at the end.

During the course of your workout, the band is tracking some great vitals, such as distance raveled, calories burned, speed, etc.

It then logs all of the information into the app so you can also track your progress and workouts. The band is super comfortable and once I started my workouts I hardly could even tell I was wearing it.

I also appreciate that unlike apps like MapMyRun or the Apple watch, TICKR is connected to your heart rate, so it will accurately calculate your output and calories on a wider range of exercises such as running on a treadmill or spin class, where you aren’t technically moving any sort of distance.

Overall, I am really pleased with TICKR and think it has massively improved my workouts and been a great motivator for me.
