One of my favorite things about warmer weather is the opportunity to wear sandals again. In fact, I could happily wear nothing but sandals all spring and summer if I could. This spring the gladiator sandal has returned, but with a twist. While last year most of the gladiator styles we saw were much simpler, this year look for sandals with more detailing. Tribal accents are popular, as in this Sam Edelman shoe. Many designers have taken their inspiration from these gladiator looks and translated it into heels. Check out these sandals from Pour La Victoire, for example. In other words, gladiator sandals have transformed themselves from Ancient Rome to modern day in just one short year. And the best news? If you invested in gladiator styles last spring, you can still get some use out of them this year.
