Recreating the Golden Globe Looks

By Francesca Claybrook

Awards show season is a fun one in the fashion world – there are so many good choices to drool over, and bad choices to lament.  Inevitably, we all end up coveting one of the fabulous dresses, and that’s where I come in.  Here are some cocktail dress alternatives to the much more extravagant gowns worn on the Golden Globes red carpet.

If you liked Anne Hathaway’s long-sleeved sequined dress, you have a lot of options available to you.  You could try this one from Tibi

Or this Aiden Mattox number

If you liked Natalie Portman’s Viktor and Rolf dress, this one from Anne Klein has a similar element in the front

If you liked January Jones’ bright red strappy dress, then you’ll like this dress from Halston Heritage :

If you fell in love with Emma Stone’s dress (like I did), then try this French Connection dress.  While it’s patterned, unlike Emma’s, it incorporates some of the same color and is a short version of the same style

This dress, on the other hand, is a one-shoulder dress, but it gives you that same standout pop of color:

And finally, if you fell in love with the color of the evening – emerald green – then you definitely want to take a look at these dresses.  The first one is reminiscent of Mila Kunis’ one-shoulder gown:

The second is like a toned-down version of Elizabeth Moss’ strapless look (also bluefly.com):
