Product Review: Warby Parker

I recently was searching for the perfect pair of glasses to give my eyes a rest from wearing contact lenses virtually every single day from the time I wake up until bed time. I must have tried on dozens of pairs, with price points reaching as high as $600. That’s when I decided to give Warby Parker a try before biting the bullet on a super expensive pair of frames.

Despite passing their store on a million occasions in the Meatpacking District, I’d never gone in and tried on their glasses. And that’s the beauty of Warby Parker – you don’t have to. Instead, I visited their website and looked at their styles, narrowing down the frames that I thought would look best on my face. What I love about the experience is that you get to choose five pairs to try on at home before committing to any purchases. So, I added five pairs to my cart and voila, a few days later they were at my doorstep. After trying on the five frames, I picked their Nash look, which is a wide framed hipster look. I sent the five styles back – I should mention shipping on the trials is free both ways – and then went online to order my Nash frames. After taking a photo of my prescription and emailing the Warby team, my glasses were on the way.

I just received them today and am more than happy with the experience. Oh, and here’s the best part – my new glasses & their lenses with my prescription + shipping was just $95, total! That means I can spend the $500 I saved on shoes 🙂
