Italian Vogue´s August issue is creating some controversy. A spread inside the magazine inspired by the BP Oil disaster titled “Water and Oil” features model Kristen McMenamy covered in oil with an oil-slicked bird spitting up water. Editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani has defended the shoot saying: “The message is to be careful about nature,” while admitting that the spread can be difficult to look at. Whats your take? Is this an environmental message or is Vogue trying to profit from a horrible tragedy?
