The Metropolitan Museum of Art 2018’s Met Gala just a few weeks ago was already a giant topic of conversation, chronicled in our best dressed post here. On the heels of fashion’s biggest night, the Metropolitan Museum of art is doing something excitingly new. It has partnered with famed makeup artist Pat McGrath Labs to make its first makeup collection.
As posted on her Instagram page, Pat McGrath announced the launch in celebration of the Met Gala exhibition ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.’
The launch of her co-branded debut of the Mothership IV: Decadence Eyeshadow Palette, $125 and featuring Catholic imagery on the packaging, and the Lust Gloss shade ‘Aliengelic’. Both lip-gloss and eyeshadow palettes debuted on May 8.
Pictured at the top of the post, from left to right the colors are ‘Gold Standard’ on the top left, ‘Inferno’ a crimson, ‘Blue Blood’ is the deep burgundy, ‘Sinful’ is the sparkly champagne color, ‘Underworld’ is a navy metallic color, under this one is the grey-beige ‘Enigma’, next is ‘Hedonistic’ a fiery copper, ‘Divine Mink’ is a grey-brown metallic, ‘Lapis Luxury’ is the deep turquois, and last is the frosted silver ‘Sterling’.
If you’re looking for something similar but less expensive, the Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette gives a different vibe but the same colors and for $34.00.
Aliengelic is Pat McGrath’s new Lust Gloss shade that came out with the Decadence Eyeshadow Palette. This gloss is $28.00 on her website. You can also go to Sephora and get it there for the same price.
However, if you don’t want to spend $28 on a lip-gloss you can buy the Infallible Galaxy Lumiere Holographic Lip Gloss by L’Oreal at Ulta Beauty for only $9.99. The gloss Opal is the closest to the Aliengelic. It gives the same holographic shine with a little pink.
