Givenchy’s Fall 2011 collection incorporates many dark hues—traditional for fall. The collection is mainly black with pops of blues, greens, yellows (especially one yellow ensemble of a skirt and cropped sweater—which I LOVE).
Givenchy has presented a well thought out, well put together collection. The prints incorporate floral as well as traditional patterns. Leather, sheer and velvet are the most repeated fabrics. The incorporation of sheer into the skirts is lack luster when it’s a pencil skirt, but the flare is sexy. Also, its incorporation into the blouses and shirts is done nicely, accepting the female form.
The leathers jackets and those with a velvet/fur mix are stunning, especially the more masculine influenced designs. There’s also a fun style with the pieces from the textures to the graphics that is a bit unexpected from Givenchy.
