‘Tis the season for music festivals and asking yourself, “what the heck am I going to wear?” Good thing we’ve got you covered. Coordinating your clothes for a festival isn’t exactly rocket science, but it’s pretty close. Here are some rules on what to wear and where you can find them.
Today, music festivals are more common than ever, from Coachella to Electric Zoo. And while the music is the main attraction, the fashion is a close second. When going to a music festival you are not putting on a costume, this is not Halloween. The best way to plan an outfit for a festival is taking your own style and pushing it to the next level. Most people stick with the bohemian vibe or the rock and roll look. So, fringe is a must have. Fringe has been a staple on runways and celebrities love wearing it to festivals. (Need some festival fashion inspo? Here’s a post we write about our favorite festival outfits celebrities recently wore to Coachella)
Let’s talk shoes, you’re going to be walking around all day and night and stepping on God knows what. My opinion, is to leave the flip flops and sandals behind and get yourself some cute ankle booties or trendy sneakers for festivals, it is a must. You can even drag out a pair of beat up shoes from your closet, it’s a more “vintage” vibe anyway and no one will notice you haven’t worn them since 2007.
One website that you can find cute outfits for your festival is Nasty Gal. Nasty Gal has a whole section labeled “festival” and it’s all very affordable. Here’s some of my favorites from this site:
This longer, bohemian blouse is on sale for $30, down from $60.
White cut off shorts are an essential building block at any festival outfit. These ones from One Teaspoon are $99.
Need a great fringe skirt for a fraction of the price? This one is on sale for $25.
This Galvan jacket is an investment piece, but we love that it is pulled together while still having boho vibes.
We love these Leopard sneakers, $30.
We are living for these black chunky sole lace-up boots.
