Nolita Ad Sparks Controversy

Just in time for Milan fashion week, Italian designer Nolita has released another shocking ad that has been the talk of town. The fashion house is using a naked photograph of a 65-poun anorexic women in their ads to show the dangers of anorexia, which are often associated with the fashion industry. The two ads, one a frontal view and one fromt he back, have definitely brought attention to the disease but some cirtics wonder if their no anorexia statement may backfire. On several pro ana sites, anorexic girls are writing about aspiring to look like the girl in the image. What’s your take?

  1. I think this is a good step towards bringing back real women onto the catwalks. If people choose to become anorexic and screw up their lives thats their own problem and it will back fire on them. Its the only way to learn.

  2. I agree with Laura, it shows the dangers, of course anorexia is a serious illness but it doesn’t me it’s not allowed public awareness. And Nolita is not using this ad to sell its products.
