New York Fashion Week Runway Recap: Tory Burch

By Francesca Claybrook

This ‘70s inspired collection was also apparently influenced by the English countryside, which is obvious in many of the fabrics.  Classic plaids and tweeds are found throughout the collection, which reflects Tory’s classic sensibilities in a very wearable way.

Who doesn’t want to put this on right now?  (Do I seem overly obsessed with the cold weather?  It’s because I am, I want it to end).

I love that this was paired with a relatively simple white shirt and gray tights, because it complements the colors in the prints without competing with them, so they really stand out.

I love the little ruffle on the bottom of the skirt.

What a gorgeous color.  It looks like we’re going to be seeing a lot more long skirts and wide-leg trousers in the coming months, because they’ve been all over the catwalks.  (Speaking of which, I can’t tell – are these pants or a skirt?  My vote is leaning towards palazzo pants, but correct me if I’m wrong…)

And if you want to look at Tory’s entire collection, you can find it here.
