New York Fashion Week Runway Recap: Kaelen

By Francesca Claybrook

This season, Kaelen showed gorgeous Western-inspired clothes in earthy tones, without going too far over the top into the costume-y realm.  I was lucky enough to be able to attend the presentation of the collection, and I have to say that these clothes were absolutely gorgeous in person.  Take a look:

I loved the oversized sweater that model Sarah Jones wore (more on her to come later!).  By this point in the winter I’m all about comfy clothes that I can lounge around in, and I really want to just put this sweater on and cozy up.

This dress looked amazing in person – the skirt flowed beautifully, and the top is another of those super-soft chunky knits that were featured throughout the collection.

Check out the beautiful way this dress falls.  It helps that model Elin Ledskog is not only gorgeous, but has incredibly long legs (more on her later as well).  If I wanted to wear this I would hate to think how many inches I would need taken off!

Not only was this model incredibly gorgeous, but she was having such fun with her dress.  All the jumping and twirling really made the skirt look incredible.

The presentation was given in a rustic, Western-inspired setting.  There was a wooden plank set up on two barrels that served as the bar – check it out!

There was also a mechanical bull!  That’s what the girl in the image above is sitting on.
Make sure you stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes coverage of the Kaelen show – we have interviews with the designer, the hair and makeup teams, and two of the models to come!
