Military Styles Keep You Warm This Spring

So spring is technically here, but that doesn’t always mean we can take out our short sleeves and put away the tights. As much as I want to start wearing my spring clothes as soon as the seasons change, that’s not usually an option because sadly, it’s still chilly where I am. (Why did I ever leave North Carolina? It was almost 80 there today!) A great way to stay warm this spring is a military-inspired jacket or sweater. Look for lighter colors and fabrics rather than the dark, heavy winter ones in order to keep it light and seasonal. Juicy Couture makes a really good sweater and a short trench that would both be perfect for this season. (Piperlime.com has them here, here, and here – the sweater comes in two colors.) For a more affordable way to get the military look, try J.Crew. Their lieutenant jacket is very reasonable, at $98 for the solid version, or $128 for the fatigue version. Either way, these styles are a great option to edge up your look and stay warm on those cool spring days.
