Meghan Markle served head-turning looks while also serving as Duchess. Now that her time as an official royal has come to an end with Meghan and Harry opting to live private lives, we’re looking back on some of our favorite looks during her time in the role. In some, she channeled her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Others were royalty glam with a hint of Hollywood. Here are 10 of her best looks fromMeghan Markle’s time as a royal.
First thing’s first. While we didn’t love Meghan’s wedding dress, her reception dress was hands down the best thing Meghan Markle ever wore. She was freshly royal and rocking a halter neck, which is quite daring. Meghan’s reception dress was a custom Stella McCartney Lily White High-neck Silk Crepe Gown. She’s wearing a pair of white Aquazzura pumps ($317). Let’s not forget, she was also wearing the late Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring.
Meghan has a knack for minimalist tuxedo dresses. Meghan wore this short, white tuxedo dress to an art event at Courtenay Creative in New Zealand. The designer of this custom sleeveless dress is Maggie Marilyn, a New Zealand-based sustainable brand. She opted for some Manolo Blahnik navy heels for shoes ($665).
This look was simple but effective for the duchess for a trip to an Australian all-girls school. The Roksanda navy A-line dress flattered her figure well and included the color blocking trend. She kept the minimal trend going with a pair of nude Stuart Weitzman pumps ($395).
Meghan stunned in this one-shoulder, black Givenchy gown at the British Fashion Awards, with minimal jewelry and striking black nails. This look is so bold, but not as bold as a royal at a fashion awards show.
Meghan pulled a classic royal look, including a fascinator, for the opening of an extension to the Anzac Memorial in Sydney, Australia. The duchess wore a custom black Emilia Wickstead “Camilla” dress, similar here, with white buttons down the front. Her hat in this look is by Philip Treacy and matches with her Givenchy satin clutch. Meghan’s Sling back heels ($695) are the brand Tabitha Simmons and pull the classy look together.
In her first solo appearance with the queen, Meghan wore a beige cape style Givenchy dress, which was quite different than the queens lime green ensemble. She paired the dress with a pair of black pumps by Sarah Flint, as well as a thin black belt to cinch the waist and a small black clutch. The beige look was stunning on Meghan. The beige is particularly significant in this look as it is rumored she dressed in beige to help the queen stand out.
In yet another tuxedo dress, Meghan shows some leg while remaining classy in this little black dress at a showing of Hamilton in London. The “Digital Dress” ($595) was designed by Canadian brand, Judith and Charles. Her Stuart Weitzman heels made her legs look even longer.
Meghan stunned in this Victoria Beckham form-fitting teal dress ($1,395) at one of her last events as a royal. The dress inspired many, as it sold out almost immediately after she wore it. She paired the dress with a pair of Manolo Blahnik navy pumps and a teal clutch for a chic monochromatic look.
In her last appearance as a Royal, the Duchess dressed to the nines. The duchess attended Commonwealth Day in a custom green Emilia Wickstead cape style gown. She, of course, styled a green fascinator. She also styled nude stilettos by Aquazzura and a Gabriela Hearst purse ($4,995). This was such an elegant last royal wardrobe choice for Meghan.
One of my personal favorites of Meghan’s looks is this monochromatic green look because of the casual workwear vibe it presents. During her first royal visit to Sussex, Meghan styles a forest green Hugo Boss leather skirt, with a button up blouse by & Other Stories ($95). The Gabriela Hearst bag ($4,995) also makes an appearance in this outfit.
