The newly-wed Duchess of Sussex has been enjoying her life as a royal, according to multiple paparazzi pictures. Meghan Markle’s custom designed Givenchy wedding dress took many breaths away, but also left some people disappointed as they thought it was too plain. Since then, she’s been on everyone and anyone who’s deeply into fashions radar. Every outfit, shoe, coat, and look has been studied carefully by many. Bloggers on Pinterest have even created boards of the Duchess dressed to the nines, plastered with pictures and articles called “How to Steal Meghan’s Style”. So, we decided to make our own list of Meghan Markle’s Best and Worst Outfit choices.
Being a royal comes with a laundry list of to-do’s. Keep in mind, Meghan’s role isn’t to be a style icon and the role comes with strict rules. Here are some looks of Meghan’s that we love, as well as some that we weren’t too crazy about. One of the common themes with her misses is that she doesn’t seem to dress for her body. The fits of lot of her dresses are way off and un-tailored, making them look sloppy. (Also, read our best & worst recap of Meghan on her Australian tour.)
Meghan’s Best Looks:
Meghan’s cream-colored Givenchy dress reminds me of a far more casual version of the one she wore walking down the aisle. The removable cape gives it a unique flare and the black belt at the waist compliments her beautiful figure.
This might be the best fit we have ever seen on Meghan. More of this, please. She stunned at a recent polo match wearing off the rack Carolina Hererra. Love how this dress fits at the waist but has a full skirt.
This silky green Self Portrait dress is a head turner, and the shade of green looks great with Meghan’s dark locks. I even love the Alexander McQueen blazer! Side note: Self Portrait is also a favorite of Kate Middleton.
A day in the princess’s shoes must be a combination of excitement, joy, and loads of darting around from event to event, meeting to meeting, and so on. Meghan beams at her prince in this sophisticated look involving a green Greta Constantine skirt and a beige Mackage coat. All the solids paired together look classier than ever.
We love the feminine silhouette of this navy and light blue dress from when Meghan and Harry were on tour in Australia. The dress by Roksanda has at $1,200 price tag.

Meghan’s Worst Looks:
Part of Meghan’s problem when she’s dressing is she doesn’t seem to get the right fit. Mix that with a team that seemingly doesn’t own an iron or do basic clothing checks, and the Duchess is prone to many sartorial mishaps.
Meghan wore this black brocade custom Erdem dress for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and the cut was just not flattering at all. Granted, Meghan gave birth earlier this year, so styling an ever-changing post-pregnancy body is a challenge, but the wide skirt of this dress did her no favors. The silhouette coupled with the outdated brocade pattern just came across as very matronly.
This sequined gown is the outfit I hate most in Meghan’s closet. It’s extremely ill fitting and looks so matronly. The cut of the top does nothing for her shape. It is a total miss that also didn’t seem to fit the occasion for which it was worn.
Now, there’s no way I would call this dress horrendous, it’s just not my favorite. Hear me out, it was very hard to find something Meghan was wearing that I didn’t like, because I loved almost everything. I wasn’t too crazy about this dress she wore by Goat. The mesh sleeves are throwing me off, and it looks ill-fitting, as if she needed to get it in a smaller size (kinda like her first wedding dress).
Yet another Givenchy design, Meghan paired their button-down dress with a Philip Treacy hat. Personally, I think the dress is too casual for the hat and that the belt is trying to amp up the formalness of the dress.
I typically love Jason Wu, but this dress with the sheer mesh at the top was a fail for us. Her boobs look really squished at the top and the straight-across neckline is not flattering. I otherwise like the shape of the skirt, which is pretty flattering post-pregnancy, but the top is really distracting.
While attending the Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey, Meghan dressed appropriately for the occasion in black. I’ve seen Meghan’s other more conservative outfits for events of the same importance, and this outfit isn’t exactly my favorite.
Meghan Markle wore her friend, Stella McCartney’s, coat with a satin bow, but it was anything but flattering. It may be the stage of her pregnancy, but this coat just widens her in the midsection and creates a really frumpy silhouette.
This polka-dotted dress we feel did not do the Dutchess of Sussex justice, while she was on her royal tour. This is the Waist Knot Midi Dress (AU$163) from a famous Australian designer, And Other Stories. She paired this with simple netural colored Sarah Flint sandals ($245), which we feel did not pair well. Yes, she was getting on an airplane and should be comfortable, however light-shaded wedges could’ve stepped up the look as a whole. We do give her points for wearing something affordable for once, though. That’s something that sister-in-law Kate Middleton has been great about, frequently wearing high street brands like J. Crew and Gap and pieces that cost under $100.
