I recently spent a few weeks in England to visit the boyfriend’s family, and I’m always intrigued by the street fashion when I travel. Sometimes, it’s a good way to gauge trends that we’ll be seeing later on in the U.S., other times it provides some much needed inspiration. Here’s what we noticed around the UK
The women there go mad for a riding boot paired with knee-high socks. They wear this over jeans, riding pants, tights etc.

Messy hair is also very popular in London. Living and growing up in New York, hair is something I pay very close attention to (and a lot of time on). While in New York, sleek hair, big curls and beach waves are popular, the women in London had very unkempt and almost messy styled hair. At Hershsons (their equivalent of a Dry Bar) they didn’t offer any of the standard New York styles, but below is one of their top looks.
Menswear like Oxford shoes and even sneakers were very popular in London, often paired with very feminine outfits.
Here’s one trend that I just couldnt learn to love. The women in England have the clumsiest eyelashes and it’s a look they try to achieve. They apply ton of coats of mascara to both the top and bottom lids and the result is less than ideal.
