Having watched all the shows and studied the looks, it’s become clear that a few major themes will be in our wardrobe’s next fall/winter. The most promising of the runway looks were: Fur, Long Overcoats, Cut-outs and Metallics.
Well, there’s no reason to wait until next year to start incorporating these looks into your daily routine. Here are some ways to wear the looks from the runways without breaking the bank.
Trend #1: Fur Everything
Everyone from Jason Wu to Herve Leger sent fur looks down the runway. This Asos Unreal Fur Jacket is a great way to get in on the trend. It’s on sale for $214.
This fur vest is on sale for $106 at Neiman Marcus Last Call.
Trend #2: Long Coats
From pastel wool coats to camel-colored trenches, this classic look was a winner at Fashion week. We love this Rumi Coat from Club Monaco for $339.
This J. Crew Boucle Topcoat looks so much like the Marissa Webb coat from fashion week. We love the two tone grey and the length. It’s $450.
Trend #3: Cut-Outs
NYFW designers took the cutout to the extreme this season, with intricate necklines and connecting pieces. This Topshop dress plays it a little more safe and makes the look more casual. It’s $60.
We also love this Mara Hoffman front cutout dress on sale at Nordstrom Rack for $129.
Trend 4: Metallics
Silver, golds and bronzes were all over the runway and this bold look is not for the faint of heart. We suggest balancing out an outfit by wearing just one shiny piece at a time, like this MSGM skirt.
This shell from Maison Rabih Kayrouz is also a great building block for an outfit, if you pair it with a blazer and jeans.
