(Updated on February 18, 2020 — and yes, we STILL have this bar cart!)
One of the pieces I’ve become infatuated with since moving into the new place is a bar cart that I surprisingly bought at Target. It’s something that we get compliments on constantly, and it looks expensive while not breaking the bank (It was less than $120!).
There are so many ways to make this piece functional and beautiful at the same time. We opted for a rolling cart, so that it is mobile when we have company over for dinner or drinks. We opted for this Threshold Wood and Brass Bar Cart from Target. It fit a lot of our criteria without causing a dent in our bank account (Seriously, I looked at some bar carts that were over $2,000. They also have this great mirrored bar cart version here).
Above, you can see how we repurposed it for my bridal shower, adding a mirrored tray, some great bottles of wine and wine glasses to the top tier while the bottom tier held more wine for refills. At one point during the shower, we even put our cakes on the top tray! We love using the bar cart in really versatile ways.
The Threshold one has wheels, a gold finish, and two tiers that have higher sides to keep your items from knocking over.
Once we bought the bar cart, the fun part began. I bought this Sagaform Glass Wine Carafe – $37 to decant bottles of wine in and it typically stays on the bar cart.
We also got these great glass decanters for gin, whiskey and vodka that look like cut crystal, but are super affordable at only $34 each. It is a more elevated way to display some spirits without having the bottles of alcohol show. We bought these decanter tags to label each bottle.
You now have your essentials on the cart, and it’s up to you to accessorize. I personally love having a candle on the top shelf alongside my mirrored tray and a small cut glass vase of flowers when we have company over. The best thing is that you can consistently sub out pieces and redecorate it depending on your whim or the occasion. We even had a stylized bar cart at our wedding as our cake stand because we love it so much as a focal point in our apartment!
