Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts For Mom

By Chevaun Jackson

Mothers can be the hardest people to shop for. Seriously, what could you possibly give the woman that gave you life, that put up with your mood swings, lifestyle changes, and ever present divalishesness; but it’s the holidays and we all must find some way to say, “Thanks Mom for… everything.” Here are a few ideas sure to show your mother that while you may be a diva, she is diva supreme.

Scarves. The scarf is an elegant accessory. It’s fashionable, versatile, and with all the fabrics and styles it’s definitely one that will be appreciated. We love Hermes’ silk scarves.

Candles. Jo Malone candles are simply to die for (they’ve been a favorite of Oprah’s for years) The scents are wonderful (We love pear and freesia) and they compliment any room. You can even create your own gift set on their site.

Gloves. I personally love Coach’s leather gloves. they retail at around $120 and come in traditional and funky colors.

Photobooks. This is one of my favorite ideas being that I just made one of my European vacation and can’t get enough of it. Services like Shutterfly (Which I used) allow you to upload pictures and preserve them in a beautiful book. Why not create a book of a recent family vacation, or scan childhood photos as a surprise for mom?

Jewelry. Jewlery is a nice way to make any woman feel special. Women and jewels just match. It’s holiday time and there are a lot of pendant necklaces out there from Zales to Kay’s and beyond. Also, you could get matching pieces such as charm bracelets, necklaces, or you could just spoil her with simple diamond studs. I recommend the pendant necklace or birthstone earrings.
