Heart it or Hate it: Jaye Hersh Market Bags

You may have noticed a boatload of celebrities sporting the bag above in recent weeks. Vanessa Minnillo, Reese Witherspoo, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba are just a few fans of Jaye Hersh’s market bags. The bags come in three styles and two colors and are created by the owner of Shop Intuition. My favorite is the weekender style pictured in the inset. The one Vanessa is pictured with is sold out in one of the colors. The bags can be monogramed and $35 of each market bag benefits the International Rescue Committee (IRC) a charity committed to providing an education for war-affected children around the world. The bags are $100, with one initial they are $120 and $130 for two initials. I vote heart it!

  1. These bags are absolutely HIDIOUS! And for the price ugh, forget it! I wouldn’t even pay a penny for this uglyness!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I think the bags are a bit retro-looking and pretty cute, actually…different strokes for different folks. =)

  3. seriously? for a butt-ugly plastic bag? i love purses and will happily spend a paycheck on a beautiful, quality purse, but this looks like the promotional giveaway bag i got at a baseball game. i’d rather rock a 99 cent tote from trader joes and give the entire $100 to the charity.

  4. i agree with you michele…this is just ugly, and money to a charity would make WAY more sense than this awful plaid thing. Don’t get me wrong…i like plaid if used nicely…this is just ugly!

  5. I purchased this bag and thought it was really cute and practical. I used it a total of 4 times in 1 week and that was it because the handles broke 🙁 If you are going to use it to put things in it that don’t weigh then you’re ok. I put my small purse and a 1/2 liter bottle of water and that was enough to break the handle. I’m back to using my Kipling bag which cost just as much but lasts a lot longer.
