I believe my feelings towards this week’s Gossip Girl fashion can be summed up in the following sentences:
Jenny Humphrey – no.
Blair Waldorf – yes.
Vanessa – wtf?
Serena – really?
Dorota – you’re back!
Should I elaborate? Ok. Jenny needs to stay away from the grunge – sure, she’s developing into a fashion designer, but she just looks kind of dirty sometimes. Patterned fishnets that look like they could be ripped are not a good idea for anyone, fashion designer or not (in my humble opinion that is). Blair continues to be the best-dressed character in the show. This episode showed her mostly in gray, and while I thought her coat was kind of iffy (were those paint splatters?) and so was the hat, the dress she wore to her mother’s fashion show was amazing (the exposed back zipper is something I feel like I’m seeing a lot of recently). Vanessa continues to be hit or miss (sometimes hit, mostly miss), while Serena is relentlessly inappropriate nearly all of the time. Case in point – she wears THAT shirt to BREAKFAST? (The shirt in question being sleeveless…and sequined.) However, her dress to Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion show was once again on trend – she wore another dress with cutouts and a statement necklace for a really great outfit. (And I’m just thrilled that Dorota is back!)
