This episode was heavy on the fabulous earrings – Serena, Lily, and Raina all wore gorgeous pairs at various points during the episode. I really liked Raina’s bright red and pink dress; I thought the color looked beautiful on her. The trench Serena wore when she showed up unannounced in Brooklyn was also enviable (by the way, is it just me or does she make a habit of doing that?). My favorite part of the look pictured above was the red accessories Blair coordinated to her skirt, which really made the outfit something special. I’d also like to note that she manages to not be washed out by the blouse, which is an accomplishment.
I liked Serena’s all-black ensemble – while yes, the top is as boobalicious as ever, there was at least an attempt to cover it with sheer fabric (which seems to have some sequins, a detail I really like). I’m also excited to see her wear pants to these events. I think it fits her style as the rebellious wild child very well, especially when juxtaposed with Blair’s conservative chic.
I didn’t get a good look at Blair’s dress during the episode, but from this distance I think I really like it. Up close on screen I had a problem with the dangly strips of fabric around her shoulders – they were distracting, but not in a good way – but from this far away the pieces of fabric recede and you can really see the dress itself, which is actually gorgeous.
And I just had to end with this photo because Dorota’s face is priceless. I’ve got my fingers crossed that there will be more to come. Gossip Girl comes back on April 18th, and so do I with the fashion recap. XOXO.
