Gossip Girl Fashion Recap: “Beauty And The Feast”

By Elizabeth Hemmerle

Blair is Bursting With Color”

Blair is sassing a Stella McCartney skirt, which is truly fruity and fresh. The printed pleated skirt looks great with the solid yellow Peter Som blouse, because it tones yet accentuates the busy pattern. I must say that I love the “dual-design” of this skirt. The print is enlarged on the back and compressed on the front side, which makes this outfit feminine yet fun! This crazy cool piece is one that only Miss Waldorf could pull off, but anyone willing to go avant-garde could sport this with a simple white tee! I love the unsubtle orange lip matched with the Brian Atwood crazy, cool orange pumps (not shown) along with her orange Riki Rosetta tote. (Which is absolutely timeless)

“Chic Charlie”

I am crazy about Charlie’s super cute style this episode. Her flowy bohemian blouse by Rory Becca is perfectly complemented by her rope necklace from Meira T, her mix-match bracelets from Stephan Dweck and Sisco Family Jewels, and that neutral colored hobo bag. I’m not too crazy about the AQS pop color fedora, only because the look is simply perfect without it! All due to my personal favorite aspect of her outfit, those pretty pink jeans! The Rag & Bone salmon skinnies accentuate her frame, and really are a key piece of her casual, cool style.

*P.S. I must add Serena’s mint green Mulberry oversized satchel is yet another bag totally out of my price range, but is such an awesome color!

“And She’s Back Again!”

This week, Diane revealed yet again another form fitting dress only this time she was taking on the “business woman” persona. The deep red Alexander McQueen dress she has on is very simple and sexy, paired with the cream, pointy pumps. The AnaLeena “Rock N Roll” hobo bag she has on is hands down the best part of her outfit. In my book, her style still needs to develop but I will give this look an A for effort because of that sizzling python purse!

MUST HAVE LOOK OF THE WEEK:

Okay, listen up fashionistas! Serena’s TopShop coral cropped blazer is an awesome staple item to add to your wardrobe. You could use it as a highlight to a simple outfit, or mix it with a few other pop colors like Serena did with her Oscar de la Renta multicolor earrings. Now I know this color is totally in for spring, but what to do for fall? Translate this cool trend into something for the fall months by getting a similar style in a teal, burnt orange, red, or even a neutral tan. Don’t just pick up your typical cotton blazer, try satin or corduroy. Unconventional “menswear” chic is always the best way to go!
