Go wild with your locks for 2011

Every year an array of hairstyles are revealed to the public, some prim and proper and others ultra modern and most definitely over the top.

If you operate a more sophisticated style then working any one of the handful of hair experimentations may not be for you, however, if you are not one that is afraid of pushing the boat out then why not opt for both stylised shapes and unruly textures.

At this season’s Dior show, frothy curls played a big part and cascaded from model’s heads in a loose fashion prior to giving way to loose fishtail braids. Such braids caressed models shoulders in an elegant fashion.
The curls were also present at the Charles Anastase runway, however these curled creations appeared a little more unruly and sat on top of the many model’s heads, bouncing as the models sashayed down the runway, Roksanda Ilincic went one step further and created a series of foaming, fluffy manes.

Topshop Unique and Vivienne Westwood Red Label equally went for hair that offered both a wild and savage quality, which was created by the hair stylist Peter Gray. Such a look almost appeared to encase an almost ‘soft mesh texture’. Height in all these styles was the crucial factor in creating the look and a key style on all the runways.

Even more extreme styles were showcased by models wearing vertical sky high versions of this season’s curls and were seen at the Jeremy Scott and Karl Lagerfeld shows, where chignons were sculpted into dramatic and edgy hair styles.

Creating these architectural styles would be impossible without either a great stylist or a set of great hair tools. One must have investment is a pair of ghd straighteners. In order to curl the hair with ghd’s you should take the desired strand of hair and wrap it round the heated irons vertically at the root, with the other hand hold the end of your hair, twist the ghd styler half way around the hair and slowly pull the styler towards the end of the hair applying the same pressure throughout.’
