The change in seasons means a much needed change in your cosmetics. Ditch the red lipsticks and lighten things up this season (buh-bye vamp lips). The runways saw fresh faces, peachy lips, dewy, flawless skin. Here are some essentials that will instantly update you look and carry you through the summer.
First things first, you’re going to need a go-to “rorange” lip shade. Out with the plums and deeps reds and in with the red-orange, peachy combinations this spring. We love Tom’s Ford’s Whole range, especially his Lip Shine in Insidious which will give you a peachy pucker resembling a J. Crew model.
You’ll want to break out your cheek and eyebrow highlighters for the warmer months. I’m loyal to Benefit’s High Beam which comes in an unassuming nailpolish-style bottle with a simple-to-use brush that you can dab onto your cheek bones and brown bones to give an instant glow.
While we’re focusing on the cheeks, we are pining over Tom Ford’s blush in “Love Lust.” The blush could be used to contour the cheeks or to compliment a tan.
Lastly, you’re going to want to find an eye shadow palette with a mix of golds, tans, neutrals and highlighting colors. Our pick is Urban Decay’s Naked3 palette. It has a number of pinks, browns, golds and tans with just the right amount of shimmer to give you a dewy look or to accentuate a tan. It also has all the components for a good spring smokey eye.
