Fashion Week Runway Recap: BCBG Max Azria

BCBG is one of my favorite lines, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed with this collection. Welcome to our wardrobes, Little White Dress. The show opened with at least eight or ten of them in a row, all in beautiful soft, silky fabrics, occasionally with a bit of texture. The rest of the clothes were made of the same beautiful fabrics in muted neutral shades, with hints of lace and other textures thrown into the mix for good measure. There were some elements of color blocking and several one-shoulder dresses as well. The only thing that slightly worried me was the dresses Azria showed with long, open, flowing sleeves. Are upper arms about to have a moment that requires emphasizing them with extra fabric? I’ve got my fingers crossed for no…
Stars in the front row included Ashlee Simpson (who according to reports is actually quite nice), and Kelly Rowland (with a kind of bizarre, Rihanna-esque asymmetrical blonde-streaked hairdo). Karina Bowman was there, as was Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin and Coco Rocha (taking a break from participating in fashion shows to observe them, I suppose?)
