Debuting his Spring 2011 collection at New York’s Fashion Week on Thursday, a theme that ran through the collection were feminine layers. His female line: Richard Chai Love, featured flowey layers in a mixture of textures that moved with the models, floating down the runway. Models spored layered t-shirts, coats, bandeau tops and leggings. Muted tones like tans, camel, greys and navys ruled his runway as did sheer/gossamer fabrics. While I liked the looks, they were subtle and not awe-inspiring. He played it safe, but after all, this is a sports collection.
