We’re all familiar with the Little Black Dress. Every girl has at least one hanging in her closet, if not more. Designers are producing more and more white dresses now along the same lines, leading to the introduction of the Little White Dress. So what is it? The LWD is the same as the LBD, only, obviously, in white. These are pieces that can be dressed up or down, depending on the situation, and are classics that will stay in your closet for years. This Marc by Marc Jacobs dress fits the bill perfectly – it could be dressed down with flats and a cardigan, or up with heels and a clutch. But if I may, a quick word on wearing the LWD: it’s not quiiiite as versatile as the LBD. For example, as a recent bride I can tell you for sure that wearing plain white to a wedding is a surefire way to annoy the bride! Rules on when it’s appropriate to wear white seem to change according to age, geographic location, and magazine of choice, but that’s one that will never go away.
