Once again Deborah Lippmann has come up with nail colors that have perfectly complemented the collections of Spring/Summer 2012. She has found inspiration to capture the essence of each designer’s collection, and truly has set the trends for the nails and toes of the next season!
I’ve put together the best of the best from Debbie Lippmann’s fantastic innovations. (In my personal opinion) That way come March and all through the summer months your finger nails and cute little toes will be looking their best! After all, you can’t have a fab outfit with a drab mani & pedi!
Donna Karan Spring 2012 Show
Donna Karan came out with an alluring ethnic collection. This runway was filled with earthy tones and chic urban pieces. The sexy black cherry shade Debbie paired with this collection complimented it so well and gave it a little more of a sophisticated feel. Sophisticated tribal? I definitely love it! A dark red such as Just Walk Away Renee would typically be a shade we would render to the winter months, but Debbie has proven to us you can never go wrong with a sexy pop of cherry.
The Color: Just Walk Away Renee, an appealing dark cherry, $16.
Look Alike: Essie’s Clutch Me if You Can, $8.
Badgley Mischka Spring 2012 Show
Badgley Mischka, once again, has re-invented glamour. This spring, their collection shows many feminine ruffles and bright colors. Debbie Lippmann blessed this collection with “glamour,” and styled their beauty with a color that took her three years (yes, 36 whole months) to perfect. A rose-gold shade, I believe, is an unconventional yet stylish color to mute the designs that was bursting at the seams with brights such as orange, aqua, and hot pink. This color, Glamorous Life, was inspired by fifties glamour. It only makes sense that Badgley Mischka welcomed this nail polish shade with open arms because their collection was all about living in glam, and giving the red carpet a modern “old Hollywood” feel.
The Color: Glamorous Life, a metallic, rose gold, which accents a lavish finish. $16.
Rodarte Spring 2012 Show
This runway season, Rodarte gave us a breathtaking and artistic collection. All I could think of was Van Gogh, Van Gogh, and more Van Gogh. So now, Let’s Go and paint our nails! Debbie Lippmann had these flowery prints and intricate designs paired up with a deep, sparkly blue shade, Lady Sings the Blues. This color gave the outfits just enough pop and style to catch my eye. This sparkly sensation could easily be paired with casual everyday clothing or be dressed up with evening attire, as it was in Rodarte’s collection.
The Color: Lady Sings the Blues, a sparkled deep blue, which is a fun out of the ordinary shade for a night out. $18.
Look Alike: OPI’s Last Friday Night, $8.50.
ADAM Spring 2012 Show
ADAM embraced two things this season: simplicity and femininity. Within the collection were many pastels and neutral colors, and Debbie Lippmann thought it needed a bit of a shimmer to give it the perfect level of style. She applied one coat Naked, a simplistic beige and then a coat of Diamonds and Pearls which gave ADAM’s collection a personalized shimmering detail. (FYI: Layering colors can give you that perfect color you always wished you could find!) In conclusion, ADAM’s feminine details were perfectly matched with pearly iridescent nails, which give off a sexy, chic, and simply soft vibe.
The Colors: One coat of Naked, a fresh beige shade, with Diamonds and Pearls to add an iridescent pearly finish. Both $16.
Look Alike: A creamy beige, Like Linen, $7.80.
To complete the look use Essie’s Show Me the Ring, $8.
