We all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, right? But while most people think of a traditional clear stone when they think of diamonds, there are actually a lot of different options, such as pink, blue, and yellow diamonds. But black diamond rings are currently in the spotlight, mainly thanks to Sex and the City 2, where Carrie receives a gorgeous black diamond ring. Get a good look at her ring – which is, it goes without saying, gorgeous – and then if you’d like to own one for yourself, collect $10,000 and contact the jeweler, Itay Malkin, because a limited number are going to be made available for sale (each is numbered with a limited edition serial number and comes with a certificate). But Carrie isn’t the only celeb wearing black diamonds these days – Carmen Electra’s engagement ring from Korn guitarist Rob Patterson is also a black diamond set in white diamonds. And Brangelina has even gotten in on the game, designing these black diamond cufflinks to benefit the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict (EPCC). So what’s your verdict? I love the black diamonds, but when it comes to engagement rings, I admit I’m a traditionalist. What do you think? Are black diamonds just a fad or are they here to stay?
