Brazilian Waxing 101

Diane von Furstenberg String Bikini Bottoms

I’ve been a Brazilian Waxing addict for the last few years and it always surprises me when I run into people who have never gone before. Well as bikini season approaches, there’s no better time to get your first Brazilian, but I have a few pointers for you.

1. When choosing which salon to go to, get a referral from a friend. I can’t stress this enough. Who waxes you makes all the difference so you want to make sure you go to someone who is experienced and that you cant trust. This is one part of your body you don’t want to risk. (I speak from experience) If your friends haven’t gotten Brazilians at least try to find reviews of salons in your area.

2. Grow out your hair so it’s about a quarter of an inch long. You don’t want it to be too short because it will be harder for the wax to adhere.

3. There are some things to look for in your waxer. Make sure she has a clean workspace, she should apply the wax in the direction your hair grows and pull in the opposite direction, also while she pulls the strip she should hold your skin taught.

4. Once it’s over it could be tempting to put lotion on the area but dont. It could cause irritation since your skin is sensitive.

 Happy Waxing!
