Bad News for X-Tina

 

A recent study by the “Campaign for Safe Cosmetics” found high levels of lead in red lipstick. When absorbed through the body lead can lead to behavioral disorders and illness, especially for pregnant women. Lipstick poses a high risk because lets face it, how much lipstick/lipgloss winds up in your mouth instead of on it. The study found that 20 of 33 brands tested had unsafe lead levels.Among the top brands testing positive for lead were:

• L’Oreal Colour Riche “True Red” – 0.65 ppm
• L’Oreal Colour Riche “Classic Wine” – 0.58 ppm
• Cover Girl Incredifull Lipcolor “Maximum Red” – 0.56 ppm
• Dior Addict “Positive Red” – 0.21 ppm
