So on this snowy New York day in the dead of winter I find it appropriate to tell you my vampire skin story. My friends and I are usually tan all year round, not being able to stand the look of paleness. However, last year after reading a report saying fake tanning is as deadly as arsenic, we made a pact (as painful as it was) to give up the beds and go au natural. Well, this was fine until October when our beach tans started to fade, leaving us looking pasty. As one of my friends said: “At least vampires are all the rage right now.” After my powder bronzer was no longer cutting it, I decided to try a sunless tanner, even though my experiences with these in the past has been pretty awful.
Cut to a little mid-work trip to Duane Reade when I stumbled upon L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer. I decided to give it a shot, and it was only $11. I gave it a try last week and am a little addicted to it. It rubs in like lotion and doesn’t stain your hands, and it gives a nice bronze glow that isn’t orangey (my worst self tanning nightmare). I definitely will be keeping this one around a while, and just found out another of my friends swears by it. If you’re trying to fight off the mid-weather pastiness, I suggest you give it a try!
