Anti-Aging 101 with Retinol

I’m quickly approaching 30 and have become obsessed with wrinkles these last few years. Let’s face it, years of sun worshipping are going to finally catch up with me. I recently visited my dermatologist for my yearly check up, and had a talk with him about anti-aging and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Well, I was shocked when he told me to throw out 75% of the moisturizers, eye creams and other products aimed at us ladies as the latest miracle cream and told me to only buy creams with Retinol, retin-A and other products in them. Basically, it’s the only ingredient scientifically proven to reverse signs of aging.

So, promptly after my appointment I followed his advice. Here are some products that contain Retinol compounds that you may want to add to your daily regime.

Eau Thermale Avene Retrinal Eyes Eye Countour Care is a great daily cream used to combat fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness and dark circles. The product contains a healthy dose of Retinaldehyde. It’s $44 at DermStore

Roc Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream is a really affordable way to give your skin the Retinol it needs to correct. Just apply it after washing your face before bed. You can find it for around $20 at most drug stores, or $18 here

I’m a huge fan of the entire StriVectin skincare line. I especially love their Retinol Eye Treatment. It’s a bit steep at $75, but it aims to correct crows feet, creases and puffiness.
