New York Fashion Week Runway Recap: Rebecca Taylor

By Francesca Claybrook

Rebecca Taylor’s ‘70s inspired looks were, like many other collections so far, very embellished.  There were the familiar flowing chiffons and silks, often with beautiful details like the dress pictured.  However, unlike some of the collections we’ve already seen, this one failed to really inspire me.

Pants were often cropped and brightly colored, like these cobalt blue ones.  We’ve seen a lot of cobalt blue lately, which makes me happy – it’s a gorgeous color.

There were also a number of silk pants like these.  I did like the black fabric in the blouse, which was featured in several other looks as well.

Sometimes the prints were just a little too off for me, like in the look pictured above.  Overall, I was glad that most of these pieces weren’t in my closet, because if they didn’t look flattering on statuesque models, I’m afraid to think what they might look like on me.
