For our stay in Hermanus, we stayed at a boutique hotel called One Marine Drive on the shore at the beach.
This quaint beach town is known for having tons of whales, great hiking, and restaurants. From the second we walked in, we loved the design at One Marine Drive. The hotel has a nautical theme that is Hamptons meets South Africa, that is super charming and meticulously done.
This small hotel— there are only five rooms— overlooks the water and is walking distance to many of Hermanus’s attractions, such as the Cliff Walk and many restaurants.
Our room was super spacious and had great veiws of the beach. We had a very large bed with plush pillows and beautiful bathroom with standalone tub as well as a separate shower. We loved the design details, such as the beautiful blue-and-white wallpaper behind our bed, the accent chairs in front of our bed and the well-appointed deck where we our welcome drank apertifs. They set up a lovely spread of amazing tease and coffee in the hallway to serve yourself.
Included with our stay was a lovely breakfast each morning which we took by the hotels pool. In addition to a great buffet of fruits, yogurt, cheeses and pastries, the chef made hot breakfast made to order such as eggs, Omelettes and pancakes.
We love the pool area which was beautifully appointed with umbrellas and lounge chairs from innocent of Palm Springs.
The staff at the hotel was extremely accommodating, arranging for our taxis, excursions, wake up calls, and cocktails and breakfast. We especially loved Nicole at the front desk.
We really enjoyed our stay at One Marine Drive, and the price point is very reasonable for the experience it provides. We’d gladly recommend it to readers.
