Summer is coming, and we couldn’t be more ready! Visions of beach days, bonfires, and the bliss of freedom is keeping us sane, these many rainy days. We are thrilled to shed all these extra layers and bring out our less-and-light pieces. Sometimes, after the long winter, it’s easy to hit a style rut. Whether you’re still warming up to new summer trends, trying to lose an extra pound of hot-chocolate-fluff, or just rusty on how to dress for a day in the sun, don’t worry- we have you covered. Check out our new guide to staying fresh and fab during the hottest summer months and on all our favorite summer holidays. And, check out our travel guide to our favorite summer destination: The Hamptons & Montauk.
Memorial Day Fashion:
Yes, memorial day falls during the summer, but May is a tricky month and weather-wise you can never know what to expect. Heading out to a few Mem-day parties and haven’t a clue what to wear? Our best tip is to wear something a bit longer to keep comfy, while staying cute!
You can’t go wrong with a linen jumpsuit. We think linen is going to be huge this season, especially in lighter earthy tones. Plus, it’s the perfect combo of cute, comfy and practical. Dress your linen up with a pair of pumps and great statement jewelry, or dress it down with Birkenstocks. Either way, you’re sure to look like a summer goddess! This jumper is from FreePeople for $78.
Wide legged, high waisted cropped pants are making a comeback, and we’re the #1 supporters! They’re flattering on everyone, and oh so comfortable, the perfect staple for early summer weather. Pair with a simple, tighter-fitting top and sneaks or sandals.
We love this pair, from Francesca’s for $48.
Fourth of July
Fourth of July is quite possibly the best time of summer, in my opinion. It always seems to bring people together in such a happy way. I love fun clothes for this special holiday! Check out some favorite looks!
We always knew paper bag shorts were cute, and they’ve only grown on us. Airy, versatile and classy, they’re definitely a go-to. We love the bright hues and prints that they often come in. Here’s a gorgeous printed pair from Gap, for just $45.
Pastels are cute, but sometimes you gotta keep it classic on the 4th. Nothing says ‘party-time in Murica’ like a solid pair of shorties, your favorite tee, and trusty chucks. We like this edgy pair from Madewell $69.
Labor Day Fashion:
Catch those last rays of sun, because summer is drawing to a close. You might not feel like celebrating the end of freedom, but you can still look fresh and fierce!
Wrap dresses are huge right now! We love the feminine silhouette and the gorgeous, girly neckline. The versatility of this piece makes it a huge investment; the perfect wrap dress can be worn on every occasion. Here’s one we heart from Lulus for $120.
Last but not least, lets not forget this year-round favorite that flatters every body! The overall dress layered with a white tee and maybe a scrunchie is the perfect labor day look. You can pair it with sneakers, sandals, or even summery flats! This dress from Forever 21 is adorable and so cheap, for just $22.90!
