One of the questions I get asked the most from fashion-conscious friends and readers is how to look cute during a ski vacation. The endless layers of clothing plus the bulky ski pants and helmut don’t exactly scream ski bunny. But, I’ve been on the lookout for great technical wear literally for years, and luckily, a number of athletic brands have incorporated more fitted pieces into their collections. Here are some must-haves fitted ski pants and ski suits for an Instagrammable ski trip. (PS: If you plan on skiing in Aspen, Zermatt or St. Moritz, be sure to check out our travel guides to each place!)
Ski Pants:
Pants are particularly problematic when skiing, as so many are ill-fitting and baggy. I’ve found some amazing fitted ski pants that are investment pieces, but won’t break the bank. My favorite pair, The Elaine from Bogner, is one that I eyed for a very long time before buying them this past weekend. They fit more like leggings than ski pants, but are insulated and have a great look to them. They happen to be on sale right now for $310, down from $500. If you are looking for a more afforadable pair, this pair of fitted ski pants from Asos is $50!
I’m also a big fan of Perfect Moment’s ski gear. They have really fun skisuits and their pants are sim fit. These Aurora pants are $506.
This super fitted ski suit from Asos with a fur hood is pretty much the equivalent of skiing in a sexy but insulated catsuit. The price is unbeatable at just $154 and comes in bolder patterns, such as leopard print or bright red.
Jumpsuits:
We love fitted jumpsuits as long as they bear no resemblance to the 80s. When I saw this fitted jumpsuit from Asos on one of my favorite fitness personalities (Kat from Tone It Up), I instantly fell in love with it. It has a great fit that cinches in at the waist and fur hood. It’s only $158.
One of the sexiest snowsuits I’ve seen is from Cordova. They are pricey, with some exceeding $1,200, but if you’re an avid skier and apres skier, it might be worth the investment. I’m a big fan of their Signature suit, pictured ($860), but they all are super fitted and slimming.
There’s one boot of choice that we go back to time and time again that takes me from the slopes right to Apres Ski parties, and that’s Moon boot. They come in a range of colors and finishes (disco ball finish, anyone?) and are like walking on clouds. Having skied all over the Alps and the U.S., the one common theme is that all the chic girls are wearing these boots.
We also love this fur-trimmed version of Moon Boot, available in black or white for $210.
Base layers:
For my base layers, I pick practical, warm pieces. They consist of a mix of Ice breaker zip ups, Under armour base layers and my first layer top and bottom is always Uniqlo heattech.
