Who says flats have to be boring? While high heels are arguably one of the most prominent symbols of femininity, flats have made it a long way since our days at dancing school wearing tutus and ballet flats.
There’s a ton of embellished flats, in varying price ranges, that are even cuter than heels. These flats give you the put together look that high heels give your outfit, with the comfortability that sneakers give your feet.
Starting off on the higher end of the price range, here are a couple of flats that are sure to be the focal point of your outfit:
These Gucci leather mid-heel loafers have beautiful white pearls and gold studs on the mini heel, adding a bit of old-school class to the sophisticated black flats. The classic GG logo is also front and center. The best part, though, is that the heel can be folded up or down, turning these loafers into true flats. These are available at Gucci for $1,150 and also come in white.
If you are looking to get in on the trend at a minimal cost, we love these Karl Lagerfeld heels with pearls in them. They come in nude and black and are only $95.
Another Gucci shoe, because Gucci- although expensive- always kills it, is the white leather ballet flat. These true ballet flats are pointed in the front and feature a bow on top. The main attraction of these shoes, however, is the unique pearl encrusted bee on top of the bow, which Gucci first introduced in the ‘70s. These are available at Gucci for $1,250.
These pointed Versace flats are a mix between flats and sandals with their straps around the ankle. The straps feature Medusa, the snake-haired woman who turned her victims into stone with just one glance, studded along them. They’re described on the Versace website as being the perfect shoe to transition from day to night with— just don’t look directly at the straps. These flats are available at Versace for $1,225.
Moving on from the expensive (but worth it) flats, here are some more affordable options that are just as cute:
These black, pointed flats from Topshop are open on top with thin criss-crossing straps. They’re a great way to dress up a casual outfit, and they come in white and red if black isn’t your thing. They’re available at Topshop for only $32.
These suede loafers from ASOS resemble the Gucci loafers, the main difference being their much lower price. These black flats have a gold chain across the front of them, upping their boujie-ness. The best part— they’re available at Topshop for $56, a much lower price than the designer flats.
