The famous plastic shoes that the Kardashians have been wearing seemingly everywhere have raised some questions. For one, are they comfortable? Are they safe for you? Some pictures have shown some of these plastic shoes get foggy on the inside. A lot of celebrities and models that have been seen wearing the shoes despite the health concerns that were brought up.
The Kardashians aren’t the only ones who wear the plastic shoe trend there are many celebrities that have taken on this trend like Kate Bosworth, who wore the strappy plastic sandals to the Met Gala this year. Rihanna and Priyanka Chopra both wore clear plastic pumps. Models like Chrissy Teigen Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid have all been spotted wearing the plastic shoes as well.
The plastic shoes have all different forms from plastic strappy sandals all the way to plastic boots. Kim Kardashian and her sisters are frequently spotted wearing husband Kanye West’s Yeezy plastic shoes, here for $800 and here are the mule version Kim frequently wears.
If you want to get the look for less (and sacrifice your feet health), there are some more budget-friendly options. Steve Madden has a few options for the plastic sandals prices ranging from $89.95 to $109.95. We personally love their Charlee style. Their plastic boots are $129.95. Another option for buying the plastic shoes is Bloomingdale’s their sandal options range from $118.00 to $180.00, we personally love Schutz’s Ariella sandal. Before you buy these trendy shoes consider the health risks that come with them. As cool as the plastic shoe looks it fogs up because of the heat your feet produce by rubbing against it. They actually act like a little ecosystem causing perspiration when it heats up in there. If we have learned anything from science it is that things grow in moisture and heat. The shoe provides a perfect environment for bacteria and fungi to grow.
Even if you don’t get an infection you’ll end up getting major blisters. You can get blisters from any shoe but the plastic ones are more likely to give you them, they can be so bad that they will leave scars. Kim Kardashian posted a picture a while back of her wearing the Yeezy heels and her feet look like the plastic on it is so tight that it is not only pinching her feet but cutting off her circulation. A way to avoid these problems is by maybe wearing a colorful sock under or wearing them in moderation.
