I admit that I am a fan of Gisele Bündchen. She comes across as down to earth and humble, at least in the interviews I’ve read. But when she shows up to promote her shoe collection (Ipanema – more on that in a minute) in Paris wearing this Herve Leger dress after having given birth only four months ago, it’s hard not to hate her.
But let’s move on to her shoe line. While she was in Paris to promote them, the nature-conscious model also put in a plug for the environment. She was quoted as saying “Nature is very close to my heart, and it is important for me that people who buy my flip-flops are made aware of the environment.” In fact, the new summer collection was inspired by the ocean and its many creatures. But then La Bündchen revealed that she does not actually design any of the shoes. “I am very inspired by nature and like to use that for my ideas,” she says, “but actually designing them — no way. I would be a disaster.” Shocking! And yet, after seeing so many celebrities claiming to be designers and wondering how much work they actually do, this kind of honesty is pretty refreshing. More Gisele, please!
